Today there are many good generic BOTOX brands available in the market. The actual medication is called Botulinim Toxin Type – A.

How and where is BOTOX injected?
High Quality Generic Botox is injected with a fine gauge 31 gauge needle. To maximize patient comfort the needle is changed after every 4 – 6 injections. Patients have numbing cream and apply ice to the area to be injected. BOTOX injections have nominal discomfort.
Most patients have injections in the “crow’s feet” area, “11” lines between the eyes, frown lines on the forehead, and smile lines on the nose.
Normal treatment time is 15 minutes.
How is BOTOX priced and what brands are available in Costa Rica?
Clinics charge by the IU or international units. Most vials of BOTOX are 100 IU. The total cost is a function of how many areas need to be treated. Most people will need a minimum of 50 – 70 IU to treat all four areas.
Here in Costa Rica there a several excellent generic brands of BOTOX available on the market. At our disposal are Xeomin from Germany, Dysport produced in England and Siax produced in South Korea.
What are the post treatment instructions and possible side effects of BOTOX treatments?
Patients do not have to change their routine after BOTOX treatments they can return to work, go to the gym and continue their day as planned.
BOTOX injections can leave extremely small needle marks that disappear after 24 hours.
How long does it take to see the results of BOTOX injections and how long will the treatment last?
Patients see the improvement from the injections after 3 – 7 days.
BOTOX treatments effect varies from patient to patient and can last from 3 to 6 months.
